Frequently Asked Questions

1. Why do I need a bookkeeper for my small business?

Accurate bookkeeping helps you understand where your money is going, stay compliant with tax laws, and make smarter business decisions.

By working with me, you can save time, reduce errors, and get clear financial reports so you can focus on running your business.

2. What’s the difference between a bookkeeper and an accountant?

I handle the day-to-day recording of financial transactions—things like categorizing expenses, reconciling bank accounts, and preparing reports. Accountants typically use those records to file tax returns and provide strategic financial advice.

Many businesses benefit from both: I keep the books accurate, and your accountant uses that information for higher-level planning.

3. I’m behind on my books. Can you help me catch up?

Yes! Whether you’re a few months or several years behind, I specialize in cleanup and catch-up work. I’ll organize your records, reconcile your accounts, and bring everything current so you have a clean, accurate financial foundation.

4. How do you price your services?

For cleanup and catch-up work, I offer fixed pricing based on the volume and complexity of your records. For ongoing monthly bookkeeping, I provide clear pricing tiers depending on your business size and needs—so there are no surprises.

5. How often do I need to make payments to you?

Monthly services are prepaid at the start of each month, and I begin work once payment is received.

For catch-up projects, payment is split—half upfront before starting and half upon completion.

6. What bookkeeping software do you use?

I exclusively specialize in QuickBooks Online and am a certified ProAdvisor.

7. How often will my books be updated?

For ongoing clients, I typically update the books weekly. I reconcile and generate financial statements monthly.

8. Will I still have access to my books if you’re managing them?

Absolutely. You’ll always have full access to your books. My role is to keep your records accurate and organized—not to take ownership of them. Transparency is important to me.

9. How quickly can you get my books cleaned up?

It depends on how much work is needed. Smaller cleanups can often be completed in a few days, while multi-year projects may take a few weeks. Once I review your records, I’ll give you a clear timeline before starting.
